В лабораторни условия са използвани техники за култивиране върху твърдагар с цел получаване на чисти култури за по-точно таксономичноопределяне. Направено е и петрографско изследване на скалата, доказващоналичие на фино гранулиран конгломерат от Долен Триас (Buntsandstein),съставен от моно- и поликристален кварц. Представени са снимки на тънкипрерези на скалите, направени през призма на Никол. В резултат на прякомикроскопиране на 103 нетрайни препарата са установени общо 35 таксона(видове, разновидности и форми) от 21 рода на 8 класа от 4 отдела. Някоиводорасли са определени до ниво род поради необходимостта отпроследяване на цикъла на развитие. Най-често срещани таксони са: Chlorellavulgaris, Chlorella sp., Klebsormidium dissectum, Klebsormidium flaccidum,Apatococcus sp., Coccomyxa sp, Stichococcus cf. bacillaris. Sampling trips were conducted in 2009, when 139samples of terrestrial and epilithic algae, and epiphytes on mosses were collected.The algae have mostly been sampled following the standard methods and a newmethod (created by the authors) of direct collection in agar tubes has been applied.In laboratory conditions, cultivation techniques of growing algae onto agar havebeen used in order to obtain monocultures for better identification. Also apetrography analysis has been done. The sampled rocks were determined as finelygranulated conglomerate of Buntsandstein that predominantly consists of sandstone(mono and polycrystalline quarz) layers of the Lower Triassic series. Thephotographs of thin layers have been taken through Nicole’s prism. The speciescomposition is illustrated by microphotographs taken under light microscope. Notall algae samples were investigated as some of them are still growing, however as aresult of microscopic investigation on 103 “wet mount” slides 35 taxa (species,varieties and forms) of 21 genera, 8 classes and 4 divisions have been identified.Some of them have been identified only to a generic level because a full life cycleinvestigation is needed. Most common taxa were Chlorella vulgaris, Chlorella sp,Klebsormidium dissectum, Klebsormidium sp. Some endolithic representatives,which have not been described so far, have also been found in the gatheredmaterial.144
