Thekeeper of the intellect is the Guru. Maulana Rumi Sahibprays to God, saying, This intellect will turn my facefrom You; Keep your control on it, and I am savedotherwiseI am lost. It does not take much time to spoilthe milk! The intellect is like that. If your mind obeysthe Guru one hundred percent, you will know then whothe God is. Don't let your intellect interfere in the slightestfraction with what you know is right. He who is willingto obey. him without a question will receive thetreasure. Naam's perpetual song, precious jewel of theLord, is in the Sadhu's keeping. You can also say thatGod has handed over His treasure to the Master. Then?The Guru places it before him who takes his words astruth. To find a Guru who can do this is the height ofgood fortune. Without good fortune, the Satguru is notmet.144If one has found a true Master, who is attuned to theLord and is His mouthpiece, and obeys Him in all thingscompletely and absolutely, he will surely destroy thehydra-headed serpent of the ego and reach his heavenlyhome one day.
