Lester Peters was presentedwith a handsome silver cup, engraved with his arms and motto,'Sans Dieu Rien^' and bearing this inscription :" Presented toCaptain Benjamin Lester Peters by <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficers, non-commissioned<strong>of</strong>ficers and gunners <strong>of</strong> late No. 2 Battery <strong>New</strong><strong>Brunswick</strong> <strong>Regiment</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Artillery</strong> <strong>of</strong> St. John, <strong>New</strong> <strong>Brunswick</strong>,1869." George F. Smith presided and L Allen Jack filled<strong>the</strong> vice chair. An address was read by <strong>the</strong> latter to which<strong>the</strong> captain responded, and after which, in <strong>the</strong> early morning,<strong>the</strong> old battery fell into marching order and escorted <strong>the</strong> captainhome. And thus <strong>the</strong> record ends.
