Of him <strong>the</strong>re is no record unless he was <strong>the</strong>Thos. Smith, <strong>of</strong> Ridgefield, Conn., who was captain <strong>of</strong> a privateerduring <strong>the</strong> Revolutionary war. If so, he was a friendand fellow prisoner <strong>of</strong> Ebenezer Ha<strong>the</strong>way.at St. John.EzEKiEL Barlow.See William Barlow.This Smith diedJohn Waterbury. A Connecticut loyalist. Was a merchantin St. John where he died in 181 7, at <strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong> 68 years.Henry Anthony was a loyalist. Anthony's cove near Courtenaybay was named after him. Robert Chestnut <strong>of</strong> Frederictonmarried a daughter <strong>of</strong> Anthony. He was one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>three survivors who was present at <strong>the</strong> celebration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> fiftiethanniversary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> formation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> company.Thomas Clapp. No record.Aaron Moses Beek may have been related to Joseph Beek,a loyalist who came to St. John, o<strong>the</strong>rwise no record.Thomas Lawton. A loyalist from Rhode Island, who diedin 1803.No record.William Roden.Andrew Crookshank. A son <strong>of</strong> Capt. Geo. Crookshank,a loyalist. He w^as afterwards captain <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> company.Thomas Hanford was a Connecticut loyalist and a prominentcitizen and merchant <strong>of</strong> St. John. He died in 1826, at<strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong> 78 years.George Smith was a builder. He was <strong>the</strong> first W. M. <strong>of</strong>St. John's Lodge, F. & A. M.Samuel Smiler was a loyalist. He died November 9th,1820, at <strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong> 56 years, and 'filled many public <strong>of</strong>ficeswith <strong>the</strong> greatest integrity.'
