In other respects <strong>in</strong>novation aroundfluids important <strong>for</strong> <strong>in</strong> vitro fertilization and the transportation of transplant organs havespawned sp<strong>in</strong>-outs alongside Solartis a stem cells test<strong>in</strong>g operation.Centre of VisualisationCentre of Visualization Göteborg is an organization <strong>for</strong> stimulat<strong>in</strong>g growth <strong>in</strong> the fieldof digital visualization. The organization spreads visualization technology <strong>in</strong>to new andexist<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>dustry segments and provides <strong>in</strong>dustries with sharper tools <strong>in</strong> <strong>for</strong> exampleproduction, processes, product development and design. The Centre of Visualizationalso stimulates cross-overs between visualization and other technologies <strong>in</strong> order tocreate new <strong>in</strong>novations and applications. Its vision is that Centre of Visualization willbecome an important factor <strong>in</strong> contribut<strong>in</strong>g to economic growth and development <strong>in</strong> theGöteborg region. As visualization becomes <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>gly important <strong>for</strong> <strong>in</strong>dustries, bus<strong>in</strong>ess,Governments and consumers, Centre of Visualization will through its membersprovide knowledge and competence to support the trans<strong>for</strong>mation from traditional <strong>in</strong>dustriesto knowledge-based <strong>in</strong>dustries. S<strong>in</strong>ce summer 2007 Centre of Visualization isone of three national Knowledge Arenas with<strong>in</strong> the network VISARD, Visualisation <strong>in</strong><strong>Sweden</strong> - Arenas <strong>for</strong> Research and Development supported by the Knowledge Foundation,Invest <strong>in</strong> <strong>Sweden</strong> Agency, Swedish Foundation <strong>for</strong> Strategic Research, The VårdalFoundation and VINNOVA. Centre of Visualization Göteborg is a membership organisationmanaged by Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Region Göteborg and Chalmers University of Technology.Among its jo<strong>in</strong>t projects is „Urban games: mutual learn<strong>in</strong>g <strong>for</strong> susta<strong>in</strong>able development.‟This project focuses on the use of games and visualisation to understand the city as acomplex system. The Centre of Visualization, City of Gothenburg and GRUL, which isGR's project on experience-based learn<strong>in</strong>g, are some of the participants <strong>in</strong> this project.3.4.7 Further ConclusionsThere are two dimensions to these further <strong>in</strong>terim conclusions, which will be fully concludedwith the <strong>in</strong>clusion of survey results from the other cluster <strong>in</strong>itiatives promoted by<strong>Sweden</strong>‟s lead<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>novation support agencies. The first <strong>in</strong>terim conclusion is drawn <strong>in</strong>response to the comparison of cluster-plat<strong>for</strong>m experiences <strong>in</strong> Table 3.3, which is constructedus<strong>in</strong>g the same variables as Table 3.2.71
