4.1 Quantitative data findings<br />
4.1.1. Surveys<br />
� Participants’ courses and year <strong>of</strong> the course:<br />
<strong>The</strong> participants <strong>of</strong> the survey are required to be students and to have used<br />
wireless local area network services on either Mt. Albert Campus or<br />
Waitakere Campus. <strong>The</strong> surveys were completed by 43 students from Mt.<br />
Albert Campus and 21 students from Waitakere Campus.<br />

Based on the 64 surveys, there are over 30 different courses. Among those<br />
courses, 16 courses had only one survey participant; seven courses had two<br />
survey participants; four courses had three survey participants and four<br />
courses had four survey participants. Six participants were doing a<br />
Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Civil Engineering and this was the greatest number <strong>of</strong><br />
participants taking the same course in this research. As can be seen in<br />
Figure 4-1, over half <strong>of</strong> the participants were in the first year <strong>of</strong> their<br />
courses. <strong>The</strong>re were just three participants are in their 4 th to 6 th years.
