were old and not good enough. So the inconvenience for her was the time<br />

restriction and old laptops.<br />

Participant BC<br />

“Finding a comfortable place is the most important because I spend a lot time<br />

sitting in front <strong>of</strong> my laptop” participant BC said. He stated that he did not<br />

like to sit in one place all the time. He liked to walk around and look for some<br />

friends. Sometimes he liked to share with friends the entertainment he found<br />

from the Internet.<br />

When the researcher asked him about the inconvenience, BC said it was good<br />

to stay on <strong>campus</strong>. It made him stay on <strong>campus</strong> a long time and did not like<br />

to go home. He always spent his whole day on <strong>campus</strong>. <strong>The</strong>re were some<br />

inconveniences though, such as slow speed and unstable signal.<br />

Participant B<br />

<strong>The</strong> mobility and no cables attracted participant B to use his laptop to<br />

connect to the WLANs for long periods <strong>of</strong> time. Since B had permission to<br />

access the graduate centre 24 hours 7 days, there were no restrictions for him<br />

at all. B spent most <strong>of</strong> his time in the graduate centre and he made friends<br />

who always liked stay there too.<br />

Because he used WLANs for long periods on <strong>campus</strong>, B found that the<br />

Internet connection speed was slow and the signal for connecting to the local<br />

area network server was weak. Sometimes B just could not login to the<br />

WLANs.<br />

Participant P<br />

Participant P was a quiet person. He did not like to sit with friends and share<br />

stuff with others. P liked to bring his own laptop and sit in a corner quietly. P<br />

had a lot <strong>of</strong> work to download and upload. P explained that he could do<br />
