Enhancing Student Support<br />
ELIR<br />
The Committee reviewed a series <strong>of</strong> enhancement reports from<br />
the three colleges on a regular basis.<br />
The Committee took oversight <strong>of</strong> the scoping, developing and<br />
planning <strong>for</strong> the Enhancing Student Support project and<br />
established SSIG to oversee the implementation <strong>of</strong> the project.<br />
Key work packages and a project plan are in place and<br />
monitoring and reporting mechanisms established.<br />
Role descriptors <strong>for</strong> Dean <strong>of</strong> Students, Personal Tutors, Student<br />
Support Officers were developed and the Academic and<br />
Pastoral Support Standards and Guiding Principles were revised<br />
<strong>for</strong> 2012/13.<br />
The Committee had oversight, together with the Steering Group,<br />
<strong>of</strong> preparation <strong>for</strong> the successful Enhancement-Led Institutional<br />
Review by the Quality Assurance Agency. The review resulted<br />
in an outcome <strong>of</strong> ‘confidence’ with no caveats, the highest level<br />
<strong>of</strong> outcome possible.<br />
LTC also supported Enhancement-Led Institutional Review<br />
activities and subsequent development work.<br />

European Union Tempus Project<br />
The Assistant Principal Academic Standards and Quality<br />
Assurance and an Academic <strong>Policy</strong> Manager, Academic<br />
Services, have joined a 3 year European Union Tempus project<br />
to deliver strategic support <strong>for</strong> the development <strong>of</strong> sustainable<br />
quality assurance structures at the new public <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
Prizren, Kosova.<br />
