Actions Lead Timescale<br />

The <strong>University</strong> will promote research on <strong>Gaelic</strong> through its support <strong>for</strong> the<br />

department <strong>of</strong> Celtic & Scottish Studies and a regular series <strong>of</strong> research<br />

dissemination events, including the annual Soillse seminar series and Friday<br />

Research Seminar series in Celtic & Scottish Studies and the Rannsachadh na<br />

Gàidhlig conference in 2014.<br />

Celtic & Scottish Studies Immediate<br />

The <strong>University</strong> will support and promote its specialist archives <strong>of</strong> <strong>Gaelic</strong> material,<br />

including the School <strong>of</strong> Scottish Studies Archives and the Carmichael-Watson<br />

Collection in the Main Library.<br />

The <strong>University</strong> will <strong>of</strong>fer two four-year fees-only MSc/PhD studentships in <strong>Gaelic</strong><br />

language, literature and culture, one beginning in 2013 and one in 2014.<br />

Within the terms <strong>of</strong> its <strong>for</strong>mal policy on the use <strong>of</strong> <strong>Gaelic</strong> in assessed work,<br />

adopted in 2009, postgraduate theses and dissertations submitted <strong>for</strong><br />

assessment and examination may be presented in <strong>Gaelic</strong>.<br />
