<strong>Judicial</strong> <strong>System</strong> in Saudi Arabia<br />

for each time and for each place. The rulings of the judges<br />

are based on jurisprudential discretion in accordance with<br />

the Sharia principles. The judiciary was not as depicted<br />

by some biased Western travellers as based on inheritance<br />

and tribal custom. The judiciary continues as it was before<br />

the unification of the Kingdom in terms of procedure, then<br />

many laws were promulgated and developed continuously.<br />

As well, the courts arrangements and jurisdictions were<br />

changed accordingly. And the Four Schools of Islamic<br />

jurisprudence continue to constitute the main reference for<br />

making laws and courts rulings, then this was restricted<br />

to the Hanbali School without prejudice to the other three<br />

Schools whenever judges deem applying the principles of<br />

either of the other three Schools such is appropriate.<br />
