upon him), “Allah Almighty loves if one performs a work, he<br />

must perform it perfectly” (1) , and perfection means judging<br />

fairly and justly.<br />

Fourth: Sacrifice in anticipation of Allah’s reward: a<br />

moral excellence of a judge is sacrificing in anticipation of<br />

Allah’s reward. This can only be achieved by being faithful<br />

and always remaining aware of Allah’s love of those who are<br />

just and fair.<br />

Fifth: Independence: being faithful, looking forward to<br />

reward in the Hereafter and sacrificing in anticipation of<br />

Allah’s reward will make the judge relying on Allah not<br />

scrambling for transient things of the world which is the<br />

greatest merit of a judge, and Allah Almighty says, “O you<br />

who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to<br />

Allah; even though it be against yourselves, or your parents,<br />

or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to<br />

both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest<br />

you avoid justice; and if you distort your witness or refuse to<br />

give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you<br />

do” (Surah An-Nisa, verse (135)).<br />
