<strong>Judicial</strong> <strong>System</strong> in Saudi Arabia<br />

as an exposition of everything, a guidance, a mercy, and<br />

glad tidings for those who have submitted themselves (to<br />

Allah as Muslims).” (Surah Al Nahl, verse no. (89)). The<br />

characteristics of the Book include the following:<br />

1. This is the speech of Allah, in word and meaning;<br />

2. It is narrated by succession, generation after generation;<br />

3. It comprises all fundamental Sharia principles/ rules so<br />

Muslim nations need no other writing if they adhere to<br />

its teachings.<br />

Many verses of the Holy Quran deal with judicial issues<br />

as in the verses about the concept of justice necessitating that<br />

the whole nation, individuals and institutions, must abide by<br />

it. Examples are the verses, “Verily, Allah commands that<br />

you should render back the trusts to those to whom they<br />

are due; and that when you judge between men, you judge<br />

with justice. Verily, how excellent is the teaching which<br />

He (Allah) gives you! Truly, Allah is Ever All-Hearer, All-<br />

Seer” (Surah An-Nisa, verse No. (58)). As well Allah says,<br />

“Verily, Allah enjoins Al Adl (i.e. justice and worshipping<br />

none but Allah Alone – Islamic Monotheism) and Al-Ihsan<br />

(i.e. to be patient in performing your duties to Allah, totally<br />

for Allah’s sake and in accordance with the Sunnah (legal<br />

ways) of the Prophet (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon<br />

him), in a perfect manner), and giving (help) to kith and kin<br />

(i.e. all that Allah has ordered you to give them, e.g., wealth,<br />

visiting, looking after them, or any other kind of help), and<br />

forbids Al-Fahsha (i.e. all evil deeds, e.g., illegal sexual acts,<br />
