<strong>Judicial</strong> <strong>System</strong> in Saudi Arabia<br />

heard Prophet Mohammed (Allah’s blessings and prayers be<br />

upon him) saying, “A just judge will be strongly grilled at the<br />

Judgment Day to the extent he wished he never adjudicated<br />

between two people even in a disputed date” (Narrated by<br />

Abu Daud). Islamic judiciary has long been known as a<br />

beacon of good ethics and priceless values for achieving the<br />

supreme objective of administration of justice. The essence<br />

of justice in Islam it is the balance of Allah in the earth<br />

through which the weak reclaim their rights, the aggrieved<br />

get justice and a right seeker gets his rights.<br />

Islam, through its rules and Sharia-based legislation, has<br />

established principles of judgeship and canons of justice not<br />

only between people but also with oneself. Allah Almighty<br />

dictates on Muslims to hold truth, be honest, avoid injustice<br />

and help the aggrieved.<br />

Ethical Values of Judgeship Include:<br />

First: Do Oneself Justice and Do Justice to Kinship<br />

Justice is in the middle of too much [i.e. excessiveness]<br />

and too little, and Allah Almighty has commanded to do<br />

oneself justice and to parent and kinship, Allah Almighty<br />

says, “O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as<br />

witnesses to Allah, even though it be against yourselves,<br />

or your parents, or your kin” (Surah An-Nisa, verse (135)).<br />

In interpretation of this verse, Al-Tabari said, “your ethics/<br />

moral and qualities should tell you to be fair and just, even<br />

if you bear witness against yourself or against your parent<br />
