<strong>Judicial</strong> <strong>System</strong> in Saudi Arabia<br />

of the Judiciary Law No. (M/78) dated 19/09/1428H<br />

(corresponding to ...) has provided with respect to the quasijudicial<br />

committees and tribunals that,<br />

“The Supreme Judiciary Council shall conduct, following<br />

commencement of work, a comprehensive study of the<br />

status of the committees (the Committee for Settlement of<br />

Banking Disputes, the Committee for Settlement of Disputes<br />

of Commercial Papers and the Customs Committee) which<br />

were exempted from the organizational arrangement of the<br />

judiciary organs and settle any controversy and submit any<br />

findings within a period not exceeding one year to complete<br />

the regulatory procedure.<br />

The jurisdiction of the quasi-judicial committees trying<br />

any criminal, commercial or civil disputes shall be transferred<br />

to the general courts system following the amendments<br />

of The Regulations of Procedure before Sharia Courts,<br />

the Criminal Procedure Regulations, and The Regulations<br />

Procedure before the Board of Grievances.<br />

The committee formed in the Bureau of Experts at the<br />

Council of Ministers shall assume, within a period not<br />

exceeding one year of the effectiveness of the Judiciary<br />

Law, a review of the laws affected and suggest amendments<br />

in accordance with the necessary legal procedure, and<br />

shall study the status of the quasi-judicial committees and<br />

tribunals that currently trying administrative disputes and<br />

whose decisions are subject to appeal before the Board of<br />

Grievances and suggest recommendations in that respect.<br />
