OVERVIEW<br />
An organisation can’t achieve anything…only its people can.<br />
NTDCS seeks to be an employer of choice, drawing talented,<br />
passionate and committed people to collectively contribute to<br />
community safety by reducing re-offending. We seek to attract,<br />
grow, reward and retain a workforce which is diverse and resilient;<br />
who will continue to position our Department to be innovative and<br />
responsive to the government’s and community’s needs.<br />
This section provides an overview of the people who form this<br />
Department, of their personal achievements and just some of their<br />
many collective achievements on behalf of NTDCS.<br />
Building Our Workforce<br />
The Department undertook a number of initiatives to build its<br />
workforce by promoting the diversity of career opportunities and<br />
job vacancies. These included:<br />
Career Expos and Career Information nights<br />
NTDCS successfully promoted its career opportunities to more<br />
than 4,800 visitors at the Skills, Employment and Careers Expos in<br />
Katherine, Darwin, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, and Nhulunbuy.<br />
We also exhibited at smaller careers expos in Borroloola and Groote<br />
Eylandt.<br />

Total paid headcount refers to the number of employees who were being paid during the fortnightly pay period (pay 27) and has been<br />
used to calculate these figures.<br />

The full-time equivalent (FTE) calculation is based on the salary actually paid for the fortnight. One FTE is based on an employee working<br />
full time hours (36.75).<br />
An employee working part time, casual hours or on leave with half pay will be represented as a fraction of this. An employee on leave<br />
without pay will not be included in this calculation.<br />
