PERFORMANCE, ACHIEVEMENTS AND OUTCOMES<br />

Casuarina Community Corrections Gets<br />

Qualified<br />

There are a total of eleven Probation and<br />

Parole Officers within the Casuarina Office,<br />

including three assigned to duty in the Darwin<br />

Local Court and the Youth Court.<br />

During the past 12 months six of these<br />

Probation and Parole Officers have successfully<br />

completed their Certificate IV in Correctional<br />

Practice.<br />

Staff successfully completing the Certificate<br />

include:<br />

• Nithin Venkatbaba<br />

• Hollaye Scheppard<br />

• Alexandra Smith<br />

• Brydee Kenneally<br />

• Leonie Theron<br />

A further two staff members are continuing to<br />

engage with and progress in this qualification.<br />

International conferences<br />

• 2nd World Congress on Community<br />

Corrections and HOPE Program training<br />

in Los Angeles USA from 13-18 July,<br />

attended by the Commissioner Ken<br />

Middlebrook and John Fattore, General<br />

Manager Community Corrections.<br />

• Hawaii Opportunity Probation with<br />

Enforcement (HOPE) Program Research<br />

from 8 to 23 July <strong>2015</strong>, attended<br />

by Executive Director Community<br />

Corrections, Tracy Luke with Manager<br />

of Operations, Laura Sewel and HOPE<br />

Project Officer, Jenna Dennison with<br />

Community Corrections.<br />

• <strong>2015</strong> Asian and Pacific Conference of<br />

Correctional Administrators from 22 to<br />

27 November <strong>2015</strong> in Bangkok, Thailand,<br />

attended by Tracy Watkins Deputy<br />

Superintendent of Darwin Correctional<br />

Centre.<br />

• Corrective Services Administrators’<br />

Council Forum, Auckland, New<br />

Zealand, was attended by the Deputy<br />

Commissioner Rob Steer on 5-6 May<br />

The Department of Correctional Services would<br />
