SORRISNIVA IGLOO HOTEL

Surrounded by a quiet and relaxing atmosphere outside
the city centre – it is the perfect place for calmness and
serenity. This year’s ice hotel is opening on December
19 and the theme is inspired from the Ice Age. We The
Igloo Hotel is located at Sorrisniva, about 20km from
Alta in idyllic surroundings on the banks of the Alta river
and has approximately 30 rooms, suites, ice gallery and
an ice chapel. The hotel is decorated with ice sculptures
– beautiful artwork created by talented sculptors and the
location of the hotel is perfect to look for the northern
lights and to explore the surrounding nature.
Guests should note that the ice rooms contain only beds
while other facilities like toilets, changing rooms, showers
and sauna are in the warm service building next door. In
the service building you can relax during your stay as the
living room, restaurant, reception as well as lockers are
made available in this building.

ALPENIGLU IGLOO VILLAGE
TYROL, AUSTRIA
Built entirely of ice and snow, the 2,000 square
metre village near the beautiful lake of
Filzalmsee consists of suites for overnight stays,
an igloo shop, Icebar, igloo restaurant, an open
air snow bar and a charming igloo church. The
18 igloo suites are carved of massive blocks of
ice and appointed with cosy sleeping bags
and warm reindeer skins while the fascinating
ice church allow weddings to be organised.
Each year, the resort plays host to ICE LAND,
a mesmerising ice sculpture exhibition.
HÔTEL DE GLACE
QUÉBEC, CANADA
Located only four kilometres from the north end
of Québec City, the hôtel and its furniture may
be entirely made of ice and snow, but you will
be getting a very comfortable bed. Blocks of
ice make the base of the bed followed by a solid
wood base and a comfortable mattress. When
the time comes, a cosy sleeping bag, an isolating
bed sheet and a pillow will be delivered to your
room. Even the room temperature stays between
-3°C and -5°C no matter what temperature it is
outside, the sleeping bags are used for
temperatures between -15°C and -30°C.
Furthermore, with its huge snow vaults, crystalline
ice sculptures and 44 rooms and suites, the Hôtel
de Glace impresses with its dazzling decor.
