An AirAsia aircraft touched down at the KL International Airport<br />
(KLIA) recently and it was no ordinary plane. It was the Airbus<br />
A320neo!<br />

The spanking new 9M-neo registered aircraft is known for its<br />
lesser fuel consumption, lower maintenance costs and more<br />
seats; 186 to be exact, as it is equipped with a Space Flex<br />
Cabin for optimal passenger comfort and efficiency.<br />
A celebratory event which was held on September 15 at KLIA<br />
saw Transport Minister, Dato' Sri Liow Tiong Lai, French<br />
Ambassador to Malaysia, HE Christophe Pinot, British High<br />
Commissioner to Malaysia, HE Victoria Marguerite Treadell,<br />
AirAsia Berhad Executive Chairman and AirAsia X Berhad<br />
Group CEO, Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, AirAsia Group CEO,<br />
Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, Airbus Strategy and Marketing<br />
Executive Vice President, Kiran Rao, CFM Executive Vice<br />
President, Allen Paxson and the rest of AirAsia Group's senior<br />
management in attendance.<br />
During his speech, Tony said the aircraft will deliver 15 per<br />
cent of fuel savings and additional range capability of 500<br />
nautical miles which translates to low fares for guests.<br />
He also said, "We are particularly pleased on the environmental<br />
element, where the fuel savings translates into some 5,000<br />
tonnes less CO2 per aircraft per year, in addition to the doubledigit<br />
reduction of NOx emissions and reduced engine noise."<br />
Japan Airlines flies<br />
Boeing 787-9 aircraft between Narita<br />
and Kuala Lumpur from September <strong>2016</strong><br />
Japan Airlines (JAL) has introduced a new aircraft which offers<br />
the latest cabins, a new Premium Economy Class and greater<br />
comfort and satisfaction to passengers – the Boeing 787-9.<br />
Kuala Lumpur will be the first destination in Asia outside Japan<br />
to welcome the aircraft which will service the Narita International<br />
Airport to Kuala Lumpur route daily from September <strong>2016</strong>.<br />

JAL Chairman, Masaru Onishi who was present during the<br />
welcoming ceremony to commemorate the arrival of the new<br />
aircraft at the KL International Airport said, "With JAL’s 787-9,<br />
we will be able to serve you our customers better and make<br />
your trip as comfortable and memorable as we can."<br />
The aircraft adopts a three-class configuration and introduces<br />
the Premium Economy class to the Narita – Kuala Lumpur<br />
route. Passengers can look forward to flying in greater comfort<br />
and privacy with the fully-flat JAL Sky Suite seats in its Business<br />
Class and spacious JAL Sky Premium seats in Premium<br />
Economy Class. In Economy Class, passengers get to enjoy<br />
the JAL Sky Wider II, voted as the "Best Economy Class Seat"<br />
at the Skytrax®2015 World Airline Awards.<br />
