PARIS SEWER SYSTEM
MUSEUM IN PARIS,
FRANCE
Explore the city’s underground sewer
systems since the 1800’s with displays
of sewage history directly within the
pipes and tunnels of ‘Gay Paree’. As you
can imagine, while history presents itself
around a city’s centuries-old inner
workings, it also has an unpleasant smell.
MUSEUM OF MEDIEVAL
TORTURE DEVICES IN
AMSTERDAM, THE
NETHERLANDS
Looking like a series of dungeons
straight out of a Middle Ages castle, this
museum boasts over 100 torture and
interrogation devices throughout history.
Fiendish inventions at this museum
include the iron maiden, Judas chair,
Catherine Wheels and Scold’s bridle, all
of which were used to torture and kill
citizens, years ago.
CANCUN UNDERWATER
MUSEUM IN CANCUN,
MEXICO
This is perhaps the only museum in the
world that you need scuba gear to enter.
Visitors to this aquatic art gallery can
expect to find more than 400 sculptures,
depicting residents and even some
celebrities of Cancun, Playa del Carmen
and Puerto Juarez, amongst many other
sights ranging from nine to 20 feet
underwater. The marine flora and fauna
has already become one with some of
the sculptures, making the whole site
look like the sunken remnants of an
ancient civilisation.
