STRANGE
MUSEUMS
AROUND THE
WORLD
“Weirdism is definitely the cornerstone of many an artist’s career,“ said American
author E.A. Bucchianeri. In line with that, we bring you creations and collections
by mankind that are not of the run-of-the-mill kind from around the world.
SHIN-YOKOHAMA RAMEN MUSEUM IN
YOKOHAMA, JAPAN
To us Malaysians, it is fondly known as Maggi. To the rest of
the world, it is instant noodles. But, in Japan, it is known as
ramen. A quick and cheap meal for those often on a college
budget, in Yokohama, Japan, an entire museum is dedicated
to ramen and on a wider scale, instant noodles. This culinarythemed
museum consists of nine shops, an interactive display
of all instant noodle types from around the world, as well as
a miniature streetscape replica of Japan in 1958, the year the
world’s first instant ramen was invented.
