With two classmates, read the following authentic explaining essay<br />
assignments and identify the following:<br />
1. \A4rat WH- questions (what,how, or why) the students must answer<br />
to complete each assignment<br />
2. What method of paragraph development is required by each<br />
assignment<br />
a. Modern U.S. History: What were President Thuman's other<br />
options regarding the war in the Pacific? What would have been<br />
the impacts and reasons supporting those options?<br />
b. Agriculture: As the manager of a cattle operation, you have<br />
found Brucellosis in your herd' Write a two-page report that<br />
explains the means of eradicating this disease and preventing<br />
its occurrence.<br />
c. Adolescent Psychology: Examine the statistics of student<br />
cheating in high schools and then discuss the reasons why<br />
students cheat in school.<br />
d. History of Science: Place Darwinism in a contemporary light<br />
examining some of the contemporary theoretical debates<br />
pertaining to the evolutionary theory, such as selection vs. drift,<br />
punctuated equilibrium theory, the reemergence of<br />
catostrophism, or the units of selection controversy.<br />
e. Food Science: Discuss the relationship of fatty acids and/or<br />
cholesterol to heart disease or cancer. Select specific fatty acids.
