The Actor’s Gang, played Diane in LA Weekly’s Ensemble
theatre company in Los Angeles, where she played the
InFluential Magazine: As a private person, how do
you navigate the new world order of social media?
Dustin Quick: Honestly, I don’t have as much time to
spend on social media as I used to, so I welcome when
others publish my, and my musician husband, Medi eM’s
happenings. I do make sure to publish when we have
big news. Our family and friends have been incredibly
supportive throughout our journey, and we like to let
them know their efforts do not go unnoticed.
Dustin’s big screen highlights include the role of Masie
Mather in Rob Zombie’s film, “The Lords of Salem”, “Bound
to Vengeance” in 2015 where she portrayed the emotionally
complex and action packed role of Laura which resulted in
her being on the list of the top “Indy Darlings of
“
Sundance” , and her second role for multi-award
winning filmmaker Dawn Higginbottham,
“The Usual” which was honored at the 2014
Cannes International Film Festival.
In the fall of 2106, Dustin’s first lead role
in a TV show aired “Blood Relatives”.
Dustin has also had roles on NCIS, the WB,
Comedy Central, and has modeled on
Fox, KTLA and Univision.
Dustin has graced the runway for New York
and LA Fashion Weeks, including Madison
Square Garden theater. International designers
for whom Dustin has modeled include
Commatteo, Lisseth Correo, Edison Cortez,
Jamie Elyse, Goga by Gordana from Project
Runway All Stars, Luxury, Shekhar Rehate, Quynh Paris,
Temraza, David Tupaz and fashion design icon Sue Wong.
In a short period of time, Dustin has experienced quite
of bit of “Hollywood”, with no sign of slowing down.
She is ambitious and a risk taker; yet remains realistic,
humble and true to herself.
I was thrilled to sit down, albeit briefly, with this rising
star to chat about her confidence, career, family, and the
ultimate question she has yet to be asked.
BEING ABLE
KNOWING THE
MOST VALUABLE
CONTRIBUTIONS
COME FROM
THE HEART
AND MIND.
InFluential: With respect to young girls and the topic of
self-esteem, what was your own experience growing up?
Dustin: My mother is known for her pure heart and
unique spirit, which allowed me to be comfortable with
being creative and dancing to a different
drum. We both had to develop our selfesteem,
and were there for one another
during the process.
InFluential: How do you define confidence?
Dustin: Having faith in your gifts, experience
and heart.
InFluential: If you could work on any script
or movie, what would it be?
Dustin: I’d love to explore my Swedish and
pirate heritage (Blackbeard the pirate is my
ancestor), anything with vampires, or a film noir
feel. Much to the chagrin of my husband, I can
act out all six seasons of, Sex and the City and
the two movies. The creators are brilliant and I
think SATC is modern Shakespeare comedy.
” InFluential: Who would you want to play you in a
biopic about yourself?
Dustin: Someone who is self-made and has navigated
through adversity and distance on her own.
InFluential: If you could remake any movie, what role
would you love to reinvent?
Dustin: Rita Hayworth’s, Gilda, Veronica Lake’s role in
Sullivan’s Travels, and Kathleen Turner’s role in Body Heat,
but with a twist from femme fatal to femme vital.
