GO EASY ON SODIUM
Avoid a diet high in sodium to
reduce tinnitus symptoms. The more salt
you eat, the higher your blood pressure
will be, increasing the sound of blood
rushing in your ears. Try to eat a healthy
diet rich in nutrients and you should
experience less tinnitus symptoms.
CREATE AN ALTERNATIVE NOISE
When you’re trying to work
and tinnitus is making the silence
unbearable, turn on some music! Try
a peaceful instrumental arrangement
that allows you to concentrate on your
task at hand. Listening to instrumental
music can relax you enough so that
you can work. This type of music also
distracts you from tinnitus symptoms.
To get your mind off tinnitus, create
an alternate noise to listen to. Recite
poetry or mantras to yourself. Play a
musical instrument. You can even chew
gum. Singing and humming your favorite
songs is always a pleasant way to get
through your day and your mind off of
the ringing.
DIVERT YOUR ATTENTION
Try filling your days with things you like to do, or that you’re interested
in. This will help you to keep your mind off of your condition. A lot of people
let tinnitus ruin their lives, even though this does not have to be the case.
You will feel better if you amuse yourself with entertaining distractions.
Do not let tinnitus get you down. Find something you enjoy doing. If you are really
having fun, you will not think about tinnitus anymore and you will not notice it as much
when it occurs. You should not dismiss tinnitus as an insignificant issue, the constant
discomfort could have a heavy toll.
