MAKE SURE TO BREATHE DEEPLY
Breathe deeply while getting your
chiropractic work done. It’s important
that you don’t hold your breath! You want
to breathe in and out with deep breathes
to loosen up your body. This will make it
much easier for the chiropractor to make
the adjustments that are necessary for a
successful session.
FOLLOW THE 90/90 RULE
Try using the “90/90 rule” when
working at a desk. Knees and elbows
need to be bent 90 degrees. Keep your
feet on the floor directly under your
knees instead of under the chair. This
prevents hamstring strain. The computer
monitor needs to also be at or above
your eye level. If you have to, prop some
books under it to view it straight ahead.
Looking down at the screen can strain
your neck.
DON’T KEEP WALLET
IN YOUR BACK POCKET
When carrying a wallet, your back pocket
is not where you want to put it. Carrying
your wallet in the back pocket will
eventually lead to pain in the lower back.
It can actually put constant pressure on
that area of the back, along with nerve
connections to the colon, bladder,
reproductive organs, and behind the legs.
Put your wallet in front pockets instead.
KNOW THE RISKS
Know going in that there is risk involved with chiropractic. You are dealing with
manipulation of the spine after all. It’s important to find the best doctor available to
you for these sessions. Keep away from any clinics where you feel concerned about the
quality care that’s available to you.
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR BEFOREHAND
Make sure you see a doctor before a chiropractor. It is important for you to have a
doctor assess the problem. This information will also be transferred to the chiropractor,
which will help them better deal with your case. It could also mean that using a
chiropractor isn’t ideal for your situation. Your doctor could give you an alternate option.
No one can avoid many of the things in life that can lead to back pain. Time itself can
wear at your back and bring suffering. Knowing what you have read here, you can begin
to get your pain under control and find some proper help to relieve your pain and get
you going again.
