INCREASE YOUR SPEED<br />

Are you looking to speed up your<br />

run? To increase the speed of your<br />

running time, make your actual running<br />

strides quicker instead of making your<br />

strides bigger. This will shave time<br />

off of your run. Push off with the toes<br />

of your trailing leg to get you going.<br />

If running is part of your fitness program<br />

and you are looking to increase your<br />

speed, take faster steps, not longer ones.<br />

The same stride length that feels natural<br />

and comfortable to you is also your most<br />

healthy. Your feet naturally fall into the<br />

best-balanced and safest stride. Pushing<br />

yourself to take longer steps, reduces<br />

your balance and increases your risk<br />

of injury.<br />

DO NOT OVERWORK YOUR ABS<br />

When you are concentrating your<br />

fitness goals onto your abs, remember<br />

they need to rest. You will not do them<br />

any favors with daily workouts. You should<br />

limit your ab training to three days a week.<br />

You should never do more than four days<br />

of ab training in a week.<br />

PLAY A GAME OF HIDE AND SEEK<br />

Join the kids at night for a quick game of tag, hide and seek, or some other<br />

physically active game. The time will fly away as you forget the troubles of the day and<br />

marvel in the energy that kids seem to just radiate. That energy is catching! Use their<br />

playfulness to your advantage in your quest to get fit.<br />

DO AEROBIC EXERCISES<br />

If reaching your fitness goal is hindered by your excess weight or joint problems,<br />

try water aerobics exercises. In this case you use the swimming pool as your gym. As<br />

a result you reduce your body fat, burn extra calories and build lean muscles without<br />

putting extra pressure on your joints.<br />
