MUSIC
The General Music Programme (GMP) consists of an array of activities and learning
modules. Both Sec 1 and 2 students developed dance skills at the beginning of the
year and this culminated in an Inter-Class Competition. We are proud of the students
who performed in front of the huge audience, showing their determination and
developing confidence in public performance.
Sec 2 students also explored how dance and art could help with their creation of
musical compositions. They learnt about common concepts between these 3 art
forms, how they provide different perspectives and inspiration for their musical
compositions. Through the availability of technology, students were able to create
many credible musical works.
In the first semester of the year, students from the General Music Programme participated in the different activities
organized for this year’s Singapore Youth Festival. Roshan Emmanuel Mano (Sec. 2A) performed his original composition
titled “Family” at the Esplanade. He was accompanied by Faustina Lim (Sec. 2A) and Samuel Tan (Sec. 1I).
Darryl Kwek (S2F), Song Jiawei, Joy Lim and Zhang Yilin submitted drawings for the SYF motif competition. Their drawings
were inspired by the Bunt’s song “Young hearts”.
