● Hands-on workshops<br />

For the second part of our MT fortnight activities, held in July, the<br />

department organised a Paper Art workshop for Sec 1NT & 1NA<br />

students. Conducted by our own teachers, students learnt about the<br />

meanings behind the different paper cuttings as they created their<br />

own master pieces! The Sec 2 students delved into the meanings of<br />

poems behind the paintings during fan painting sessions. Aside from<br />

these programmes, students from all different levels and streams had<br />

the opportunity to watch shows after curriculum hours.<br />

● Culture Appreciation Learning Journeys<br />

Our Sec 1 and 3 students embarked on a tour that comprised a Chinese<br />

Tea Art appreciation session and a heritage tour to Kampong Lorong<br />

Buangkok. The students learnt about the various types of Chinese<br />

tea and their benefits as they sipped tea they brewed for themselves<br />

and sampled eggs cooked in tea leaves. They learned interesting facts<br />

about Singapore in Chinese at Kampong Lorong Buangkok.<br />

● Speech and Drama Workshop<br />

Sec 2 HCL students were immersed in a month long drama workshop.<br />

They were exposed to the various aspects of drama, including script<br />

writing, acting and stage performance. It culminated in a stage<br />

performance with self-written scripts. The process was gruelling but<br />

certainly meaningful as students demonstrated a higher level of<br />

confidence resulting in better stage presentation.<br />
