Football
The Mayflower Football Team, since its establishment in 2014, has steadily progressed both as an outlet for students to
develop a Zest for Life, as well as a Sports-Oriented platform for character development. We emphasise Excellence in
Character which is shown in the way we conduct trainings and organise the teams. Discipline in the team is of utmost
importance, regardless of talent. Team rules are enforced stringently. Only when students can adhere to a good level of
discipline can we then enrich their learning on the field with the support of our resident coach, Mr Nahar Daud.
Mr Nahar is a former S-league player, and has coached the country’s top teams. His inclusion to our setup has greatly
enhanced our standings and track record. At one point last year, the B Division has gone 7 friendly matches without
losing. For a budding team, this is very encouraging.
This year, Mayflower Football Team won the Ulu Pandan Futsal Tournament placing both 1st and 2nd. The C division
has shown great promise, and with a mindful eye on being disciplined and grounded, we will start to see Mayflower
Secondary School Football Team attain greater heights in this hugely popular sport.
