Boys’ Brigade
The Boys’ Brigade in Mayflower Secondary was formed in 2005 and was named
as 51st company in Singapore. It is sponsored by AMK Bethesda Hall.
Our aim is to mould our boys to be responsible Men in the Family, the Community,
the Nation and the World. We achieve this by providing a fun, meaningful and
challenging programme of physical, enrichment, spiritual and social interests,
based on Christian Education and Discipline, and guided by adult Christian
leaders as Officers.
The emphasis is also on leadership development, team building, life skills,
adventure activities and community service.
Key events
The Boys’ Brigade had a fun and fruitful year in 2017. Through participating in
courses such as SANA and the Civil Defence Course, our boys acquired problem
solving skills and basic fire-fighting skills which will serve them well in the future.
In addition, our boys organised a Parents’ Appreciation Night during the June
holidays to honour their parents and celebrate the achievements of the boys.
Achievements
Through the hard
work and guidance
from officers, our boys
have achieved the
standard of Gold for
the National Character
Quest Competition at the end of 2016 and the Bronze for the National Adventure
Quest Competition in 2017. For their efforts, the Boys achieved the Bronze
Standard in the JM Fraser Award for the year 2017.
