After more than two months of unquellable
demonstrations, Lam announced an
indefinite
suspension of the extradition bill
and apologized for the turmoil it had caused. Though intended to mollify
tensions with the expanding movement, this state of withdrawal still
allowed the bill to be restored within
12 days notice.
