Thomas Thorp is associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> philosophy at Saint Xavier<br />

University in Chicago. He is coauthor <strong>of</strong> Politology: The A<strong>the</strong>nians and<br />

<strong>the</strong> Iroquois. His published essays attempt to draw Continental political<br />

<strong>the</strong>ory (Habermas, Derrida) into conversation with ancient Greek<br />

sources.<br />

Jeff Weinstein was an arts and popular culture critic and editor at <strong>the</strong><br />

Village Voice for more than seventeen years, was fine arts editor and staff<br />

writer at <strong>the</strong> Philadelphia Inquirer and is currently arts and culture editor<br />

at Bloomberg News. He is author <strong>of</strong> Life in San Diego (a novella) and<br />

Learning to Eat, both published by Sun & Moon Press. He has written<br />

for <strong>the</strong> New Yorker, Artforum, Art in America, and many o<strong>the</strong>r publications.<br />

His short story “A Jean-Marie Cookbook,” reprinted in Contemporary<br />

<strong>American</strong> Fiction, was awarded a Pushcart Prize.<br />

Shannon Winnubst is associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> philosophy and a member<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> feminist studies program at Southwestern University in<br />

Georgetown, Texas. Writing about subjects such as vampires and drugs,<br />

she works in <strong>the</strong> intersections <strong>of</strong> twentieth-century French philosophy<br />

and feminist, race, and queer <strong>the</strong>ory.
