Thomas Thorp is associate professor of philosophy at Saint Xavier
University in Chicago. He is coauthor of Politology: The Athenians and
the Iroquois. His published essays attempt to draw Continental political
theory (Habermas, Derrida) into conversation with ancient Greek
sources.
Jeff Weinstein was an arts and popular culture critic and editor at the
Village Voice for more than seventeen years, was fine arts editor and staff
writer at the Philadelphia Inquirer and is currently arts and culture editor
at Bloomberg News. He is author of Life in San Diego (a novella) and
Learning to Eat, both published by Sun & Moon Press. He has written
for the New Yorker, Artforum, Art in America, and many other publications.
His short story “A Jean-Marie Cookbook,” reprinted in Contemporary
American Fiction, was awarded a Pushcart Prize.
Shannon Winnubst is associate professor of philosophy and a member
of the feminist studies program at Southwestern University in
Georgetown, Texas. Writing about subjects such as vampires and drugs,
she works in the intersections of twentieth-century French philosophy
and feminist, race, and queer theory.
