With this storage policy defined, the nodename of JAMAICA_ORACLE was<br />

delete backup objects with the BACKDELETE=YES option. If this option was<br />

not set, the RMAN delete command would fail. Also, we set the maximum<br />

9.2 Stopping <strong>Oracle</strong> services<br />

You should stop all <strong>Oracle</strong> services before installing TDP for <strong>Oracle</strong> for<br />

Windows to ensure th<strong>at</strong> all the files are correctly installed. The <strong>Oracle</strong><br />

Administr<strong>at</strong>ion Guide for NT contains different methods for stopping these<br />

services. We stopped the <strong>Oracle</strong> services using the Windows 2000 Services<br />

tool. You access this tool through the Control Panel or by selecting Start -><br />

Programs -> Administr<strong>at</strong>ive Tools -> Services (Figure 19).<br />
