Table 2. TDP for <strong>Oracle</strong> environment variables<br />

DSMO_NODE This is used to specify a unique node name for TDP for<br />

<strong>Oracle</strong>. The value can contain a string of 1 to 64 characters.<br />

The default value is the value returned by the UNIX<br />

hostname command.<br />

TDP for <strong>Oracle</strong> does not use the node name in the dsm.sys<br />

file.<br />

DSMO_AVG_SIZE This is the average size of an object in MB. This inform<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

is passed to the TSM server, where it is used to determine<br />

storage pool usage and device usage. The default is 50 MB.<br />

Important: It is recommended th<strong>at</strong> you set the variable to<br />

a value larger than your estim<strong>at</strong>ed object size. This enables<br />

the TSM server to use the correct storage pools (disk or<br />

tape) from the beginning of the backup.<br />

DSMI_ORC_CONFIG This points to the user option file dsm.opt.<br />

If the variable is not set, TDP for <strong>Oracle</strong> tries to source<br />

dsm.opt from the default TSM API install<strong>at</strong>ion directory.<br />

DSMI_LOG This points to a directory th<strong>at</strong> contains the TSM API error log<br />

file dsierror.log.<br />

Make sure th<strong>at</strong> the user who is performing backups has the<br />

necessary authoriz<strong>at</strong>ion to add or modify the file here.<br />

DSMO_FS This contains the filespace name used on the TSM server.<br />

You can use different filespace names to make use of<br />

different management classes.<br />

The default filespace name is /adsmorc.<br />

DSMO_OWNER This option specifies a session owner name and object<br />

owner name. The value can contain a string of 1 to 64<br />

characters.<br />

The default value is the value returned by the UNIX id<br />

command.<br />

DSMO_DEBUG=49 When set, TDP for <strong>Oracle</strong> will cre<strong>at</strong>e a file called<br />

orcagent.log in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs containing useful<br />

trace inform<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />
