To make sure th<strong>at</strong> all d<strong>at</strong>a files are recoverable, use the REPORT<br />

UNRECOVERABLE command to report on d<strong>at</strong>a files th<strong>at</strong> need backup<br />

because of unlogged changes th<strong>at</strong> were made after the last backup:<br />

RMAN> report unrecoverable device type 'sbt_tape';<br />

The list utility queries the contents of the recovery c<strong>at</strong>alog or the control file<br />

primarily to determine which backup or copies are available.<br />

The example below lists incarn<strong>at</strong>ions of d<strong>at</strong>abases th<strong>at</strong> are c<strong>at</strong>aloged within<br />

the recovery c<strong>at</strong>alog. Every time RESETLOGS is performed, an incarn<strong>at</strong>ion is<br />

cre<strong>at</strong>ed for the d<strong>at</strong>abase:<br />
