BAM Utiliteitsbouw, BAM Techniek.
> BAM Utiliteitsbouw focuses on the commercial and
technical development, preparation and construction of
non-residential projects in the Netherlands, as well as on
maintenance and management of those projects.
BAM Utiliteitsbouw likes to be involved as early as possible
in the process so that the customer has the maximum
possible benefit from the company’s knowledge and
experience. In order to be close to its customers, BAM
Utiliteitsbouw operates from ten regional offices and has a
national business unit for Major Projects. BAM
Utiliteitsbouw has around 1,650 employees.
With approximately 120 employees, the in-house
consultancy and engineering bureau BAM Advies &
Engineering provides significant support in the form of
architectural, structural and project management
expertise. This represents substantial added value for
customers.
BAM Utiliteitsbouw’s product concepts are part of its
efforts to achieve forward and reverse integration in the
construction process. For example, Vitaal ZorgVast
deploys innovative real estate solutions to respond to
changes in the health care sector and the different
demands as regards accommodation. Vitaal ZorgVast is
responsible for development, realisation and maintenance
in the health care sector. OfficeUp is a project developer
that focuses on transforming old office buildings for other
designated uses, functions and occupiers.
The order book includes large projects involving office
buildings, shopping centres, sports facilities and cultural
attractions. The health sector has also provided a
significant portion of the work in progress. Work in
progress includes the large-scale renovation and
modernisation of Roeterseiland university centre for the
University of Amsterdam; phase 2 of the Public Transport
Terminal in Arnhem (joint venture); building the new
theatre, cinema, library and underground car park (project
known as ‘De Nieuwe Kolk’) in Assen; the Ministry of
Security and Justice and the Ministry of the Interior and
Repairing the fire damage to the telecommunications tower,
Hoogersmilde, the Netherlands.
BAM Gebouwservices (BAM Utiliteitsbouw).
Kingdom Relations in The Hague (joint venture); as well as
the redevelopment and extension of the De Monarch
office building in The Hague.
New projects include the office for the Ministry of Social
Affairs and Employment in Groningen; the
Westfriesgasthuis radiotherapy building in Hoorn; the
Woudestein Campus Plaza underground car park in
Rotterdam; and a laboratory, office and underground car
park for Danone in Utrecht.
BAM Utiliteitsbouw delivered the following projects in
2011: the renovation of the National Maritime Museum in
Amsterdam; shops, housing, a library, a school and a
sports centre in Kloosterveste in Assen; the De Kroon
high-rise apartment building with low-rise office
buildings in The Hague; renovation, restoration and
new-build work on the provincial government building
‘Provinciehuis’ in Leeuwarden; phase 3 of the Radboud
Hospital new-build contract in Nijmegen; and expansion
of the Teylingereind Forensics Centre in Sassenheim.
Restoration specialist Schakel & Schrale started restoring
the historic house ‘Huis Doorn’ and Loenersloot Castle in
Amsterdam. Renovation work was completed on the
facade of the provincial government building ‘Het
Gouvernement’ in Maastricht.
> BAM Woningbouw is the market leader in the
Netherlands. The company works out of nine branches
– each with its own regional expertise – and employs a
workforce of 1,450 to carry out consultancy,
development, construction, service and maintenance,
and renovation work.
BAM Woningbouw’s tried and tested W&R housing
concept allows the company to work with specific,
specially selected co-makers – based on supply chain
integration and lean construction working methods – to
build comfortable homes at a set and affordable price.
More than 15,000 W&R homes have been built in the
Netherlands. BAM Woningbouw has extended this
