Quand y aller? / When to go?
Morondava connaît un climat tropical sec. La
période la plus propice pour la visiter s’étend entre
mars et décembre.
Morondava has a dry tropical climate. The best
period to visit is between March and December.
Comment s’y rendre? / How to get there?
Prenez un vol de Madagascar Airlines depuis la
capitale. Une autre possibilité est d’emprunter la RN7
puis la RN 34 au niveau d’Antsirabe et continuer le
voyage sur la RN35 à partir de Malaimbandy.
Take a Madagascar Airlines flight from the capital. Or
go by road along the RN7, the RN 34 from Antsirabe
and then continue along the RN35 from Malaimbandy.

Réservez à l’Hôtel Renala, au Palissandre Côte
Ouest ou encore au Vezo Hôtel. Un peu éloignés
de la ville, au Kimony Resort ou au Kirindy Lodge.
Stay at the Hôtel Renala, the Palissandre Côte Ouest
or at the Vezo Hôtel. The Kimony Resort and the
Kirindy Lodge are both located a little distance
outside the town.

Les fruits de mer, spécialités de la région
sont servis dans les restaurants des hôtels
mentionnés mais également chez Bleu Soleil,
Baobab café, Le Corail, Le Chevalier ou
La Campannina.
Seafood, one of the region’s specialities, is served in
the restaurants of the hotels above, and also at the
Bleu Soleil, Baobab café, Le Corail, Le Chevalier and
La Campannina.

Une virée à Belo sur Mer, à 80km au sud de
Morondava vous fera découvrir les mouvements
des pirogues à voile ainsi que le chantier naval
artisanal de cette région. Les Mangroves qui
s’étendent sur des hectares depuis Bemanonga
jusqu’à Belo-sur-Tsiribihina, constituent un habitat
des oiseaux aquatiques comme les aigrettes, les
ibis sacrés et les flamants roses. Aventurez-vous
en boutre pour explorer le fleuve Tsiribihina et le
Canal du Mozambique.
Take a trip to Belo Sur Mer, 80km south of
Morondava and watch the comings and goings
of the dug-out canoes fitted with sails then visit
the region’s small-scale shipyard. The mangroves
stretching out over several hectares from
Bemanonga to Belo Tsiribihina are the habitat
of water birds such as the egret, the African
sacred ibis and the pink flamingo. Venture out in
a dhow to explore the Tsiribihina river and the
Mozambique Channel.
