Les vanga
Ces oiseaux se rapprochent des
pinsons de Darwin des Galápagos.
L’hypositte malgache et le vanga de
Lafresnaye peuvent être trouvés dans
toute l’île. L’habitat naturel de la falculie
mantelée et le vanga écorcheur est
dans les forêts sèches du parc national
d’Ankarafantsika et de la forêt de
Kirindy. L’eurycère de Prévost, lui, vit
dans le Nord de Madagascar, dans les
forêts humides du parc national de
Masoala et celui de Marojejy.
Vangas
These birds are similar to Darwin’s
oscines in the Galapagos. The
Madagascan Nuthatch Vanga and
Lafresnaye’s Vangaare can be found all
over the island. The natural habitat of the
Sickle-billed Vanga and the Hook-billed
Vanga is in the dry forests of the national
park of Ankarafantsika and the forest
of Kirindy. The Helmet Vanga lives in
the north of Madagascar, in the tropical
forests of the Masoala and Marojejy
national parks.

Les couas
Appelé également coucou
huppé, le coua est
reconnaissable par le cercle
bleu qui entoure ses yeux. Le
coua géant et le coua huppé
sont les deux espèces qui
vivent dans la forêt sèche
de Berenty, au sud-est de
Madagascar. Dans les aires
protégées de Ranomafana,
de la Montagne d’Ambre,
de Marojejy, de Masoala, de
Mangabe et d’Andasibe, vous
pouvez observer le coua bleu.

Also referred to as the crested
cuckoo, the Coua can be
recognised thanks to the blue
ring around its eyes. The Giant
Coua and the Crested Cuckoo
are the two species living in
the dry forest of Berenty, in the
south-east of Madagascar. In the
protected areas of Ranomafana,
the Montagne d’Ambre, Marojejy,
Masoala, Mangabe and Andasibe,
you can observe the Blue Coua.
