Botrytis- and Oidium-contaminated
grapes
The 2023 wine year brought various
challenges for producers, such
as oversupply in various regions and
climatic extremes. The filterability of
the wine is impaired by unclear young
wines and clogged filters, especially
in the case of botrytis- or oidium-infested
grapes. Filtration specialists
offer solutions such as enzymes and
laboratory tests. Climatic conditions
could increasingly force such measures,
which is why winegrowing specialists
are already preparing for
them.
Food: Stricter regulations through
better testing procedures
Increasing precision in food testing
increases the demands on filtration.
Systems must meet higher standards
and be regularly monitored and
maintained. Fine filtration technologies
such as membrane or nanofiltration
are becoming more popular because
they remove even the smallest
impurities.
