7. Side marker lamps
8. Reflectors
9. Clearance lamps
10. Identification lamps
11. Emergency warning lamps
12. License plate lamp(s) as manufacturer-equipped
13. All others
Headlights, tail lights, including third brake light, back-up lights, license plate light(s),
directional signals, side marker lights, and reflectors.
Inspect For And Reject Vehicle If:
1. Any required lamp is missing.
2. Any bulb or sealed beam unit fails to light.
3. Turn signals do not properly indicate right and left when so switched.
4. Back-up light system does not turn off automatically when the vehicle goes forward.
5. Lamp shows color contrary to law (no clear lenses with colored bulbs in the rear of
vehicle are allowed).
6. Lamps fail to light the proper filament indicated at the switch position.
7. Any lamp or reflector does not direct light properly.
8. Auxiliary equipment is placed on, in, or in front of any lamp (except transparent
covers which are part of originally- equipped headlamps).
9. Lamp assembly improperly fastened.
10. Lamp has a cracked, broken or missing lens or visible moisture in interior.
11. Any headlamp fails to have the letters “DOT” horizontally or vertically on the lens.
12. Any headlamp that has the word “motorcycle” on the lens.
