<strong>Chapter</strong> 2. Installing, Preparing, and Verifying the Installation<br />

of <strong>NetView</strong> <strong>FTP</strong> <strong>V2.2.1</strong> <strong>MVS</strong><br />

The following provides a summary of the installation process, from unloading the<br />

distribution tape to verifying the installation:<br />

1. Installing <strong>NetView</strong> <strong>FTP</strong> <strong>V2.2.1</strong> <strong>MVS</strong><br />

This is described in the Program Directory and consists of the following:<br />

a. Unloading the job generator from the distribution tape<br />

b. Reading the README file (DVGMXRDE)<br />

c. Generating the installation and installation verification jobs<br />

d. Coding the job statement macro (DVGMXJBC)<br />

e. Coding the generation job (DVGMXJGN) and running it<br />

f. Running the SMP/E installation jobs for <strong>NetView</strong> <strong>FTP</strong> <strong>V2.2.1</strong> <strong>MVS</strong>:<br />

1) Allocating the SMP/E data sets for <strong>NetView</strong> <strong>FTP</strong> <strong>V2.2.1</strong> <strong>MVS</strong><br />

(DVG01SMP)<br />

2) Allocating the distribution and target libraries (DVG02ALL)<br />

3) Initializing SMP/E libraries (DVG03ZON)<br />

4) Performing the SMP/E RECEIVE processing (DVG04REC)<br />

5) Performing the SMP/E APPLY processing (DVG05APP)<br />

6) Performing the SMP/E ACCEPT processing (DVG06ACC).<br />

g. If you are also installing the OSI part, you must run the job DVGLKOSI.<br />

h. If you are also installing the Japanese Language Feature, you must run the<br />

following SMP/E installation jobs:<br />

1) Allocating the distribution and target libraries (DVG12ALL)<br />

2) Initializing SMP/E libraries (DVG13ZON)<br />

3) Performing the RECEIVE/APPLY processing (DVG14RAP)<br />

4) Performing ACCEPT processing (DVG15ACC).<br />

2. Preparing <strong>NetView</strong> <strong>FTP</strong> <strong>V2.2.1</strong> <strong>MVS</strong><br />

This is described in “Preparing the <strong>NetView</strong> <strong>FTP</strong> <strong>V2.2.1</strong> <strong>MVS</strong> Program” on<br />

page 19 and consists of the following:<br />

a. Defining the load libraries:<br />

1) Authorized library<br />

2) <strong>MVS</strong> link library list.<br />

b. Installing the SVC routine<br />

c. Performing IPL after loading<br />

d. Assigning RACF authorization to started tasks<br />

e. Setting up ACF/VTAM resources<br />

f. Submitting jobs to create the request-queue and checkpoint data sets<br />

g. Copying the <strong>NetView</strong> <strong>FTP</strong> <strong>V2.2.1</strong> <strong>MVS</strong> procedures, parameter members,<br />

and the sample server group table<br />

h. Gaining access to the interactive interface routine.<br />
