la sala de prensa y revistas, con revistas, periódicos, boletines oficiales y recursos online<br />
sobre publicaciones periódicas; la sala de información bibliográfica, para la consulta<br />
bibliográfica general y especializada, catálogos, etc.<br />
Hemeroteca: los fondos de publicaciones periódicas incluyen varías categorías como revistas,<br />
periódicos, anuarios, boletines, guías e informes; entre otros, las principales revistas<br />
científicas europeas de los siglos XVii a XiX, numerosas publicaciones latino-americanas,<br />
así como las revistas españolas más importantes<br />
Colecciones especiales: fondos sonoros y gráficos. Cabe destacar el llamado archivo de<br />
la Guerra Civil, que reúne miles de fotografías sobre ambos frentes. El fondo del antiguo<br />
protectorado español en marruecos, con fotografías de los primeros sesenta años del siglo<br />
XX. Existe también una colección de carteles de la república y la Guerra Civil, organizados<br />
en cinco grandes bloques temáticos: retratos y representaciones alegóricas, campañas<br />
electorales, carteles de guerra, la retaguardia y carteles nacionales.<br />

Collections: the collection comprises a wide and varied range of documents, formats, origins<br />
and topics, from the middle Ages to the present day. the library has two main branches, one<br />
in madrid (recoletos building), and one in Alcala de Henares. the latter contains monographs,<br />
poster collections, and many of the books printed in Spain after 1986. in order to facilitate<br />
access to the different types of holdings, the recoletos buiding is divided into halls: the General<br />
information room, for the issue of library cards and practical information; the General room,<br />
with monographic works from the 16 th century onwards, encyclopaedias, dictionaries,<br />
catalogues and directories; the Cervantes Hall, with ancient and modern manuscripts,<br />
incunabula, plays and works by Cervantes; the Goya Hall, with drawings, engravings, ephemera,<br />
posters, photographs, early and modern maps, etc.; the Barbieri Hall, with music and musicology,<br />
audio-visual and multimedia documents and audio recordings; the newspaper and magazine<br />
room, with magazines, newspapers, official gazettes and online resources about periodical<br />
publications; the Bibliographic information room, for the consultation of general and<br />
specialist bibliographies, catalogues, etc.<br />
Newspaper library: the collections of periodicals include various categories such as magazines,<br />
newspapers, yearbooks, bulletins, guides and reports; among others, the leading European<br />
scientific journals from the 17 th –19 th centuries, numerous latin American publications, and<br />
the most important Spanish magazines<br />
Special collections: audio and graphic collections. it is important to mention the so-called<br />
Civil War Archive, which gathers thousands of photographs concerning both sides; the collection<br />
of the former Spanish Protectorate in morocco, with photographs from the first six decades<br />
of the 20 th century. there is also a collection of posters from the republic and the Civil War,<br />
arranged in five thematic groups: portraits and allegorical representations, electoral campaigns,<br />
war posters, the rearguard, and national posters.<br />
