Holdings: among other collections, this Archive houses the documentary collection of the
Spanish Communist Party (PCE) since its inception in 1920 until its legalization in 1977. All
the material related to the 20 th century workers’ movement in Spain is also housed here as
is that related to the struggle against Francoism and to the socio-political activities of Spaniards
in exile. the material is organized in different sections: the Spanish Communist Party
international relations section; the Political migration section; and the Army section, which
includes files about the republican army. it also holds a collection with documents about the
persecution and repression of communist party members from the end of the Civil War
onwards, and about other political organizations and trade unions. it also keeps archives
about the independent Spain radio station, also known as la Pirenaica, and about the
Passage team, an organ of the party established in France in 1941 in order to arrange
transfers of party members and goods into Spain.
Special collections: the Communist Party photographic archive, El Alcazar newspaper and
mundo obrero collections. there is also an audio archive with recordings made before 1977,
as well as a collection of posters from the Communist Party and other political organizations
and trade unions (1993–1998)

Fondos: archivo especializado en la historia política de Cataluña desde el final de la Guerra
Civil y la evolución del socialismo catalán. los fondos están organizados en cinco secciones:
Fondos documentales, con documentación de personalidades del socialismo catalán (isidre
molas, rafael pujol, etc.) y organizaciones (Centro de Estudios socialistas, 1976–1981;
Convergencia socialista de Cataluña, 1974–1986, etc.); Fondos fotográficos; Fondos
audiovisuales, en diferentes formatos, de actos públicos y de campañas electorales desde
la transición hasta la actualidad; Fondos gráficos, con carteles; Fondos hemerográficos,
con publicaciones periódicas, destacando las de carácter clandestino, las generadas por los
exiliados republicanos catalanes y las de partidos políticos y organizaciones sindicales.
Existe también una colección de manuscritos sobre socialismo de socialistas catalanes
fallecidos (jordi solé tura, joan raventós, Ernest lluch, etc.), disponible online.
