the Castuera Prisoners Concentration Camp was a compound bordered by a ditch with double
wire fence. Apart from installations no longer existing, it consisted of prefab barracks either
within the wired compound or outside. these were for the military and militia: Falangists and
requetés, from where they cared for the custody and organization of the concentration camp.
the barracks inside the compound were mostly used by prisoners. the following remains are
easily recognizable on the ground: the perimeter ditch and main entrance, paved streets and
barracks streets, a square and a pedestal of concrete that held a cross, clothes-washing places,
latrines and a dump, the location of the Camp Commandant’s barracks and trenches for
machine-guns, a pedestal of concrete where the flag used to be, and the tetuán mine slag
heap where the lokout post was located.

situado en la carretera hacia el pueblo de Entrena, este cementerio se construyó en 1979
sobre la fosa común donde fueron enterrados los fusilados de la zona por las tropas
franquistas durante la Guerra Civil.
Situated on the road to the village of Entrena, this cemetery was built in 1979 over the mass
grave where the local people shot by francoist troops during the Civil War were buried.

El Centro se estructura en diferentes áreas y explica aspectos como el desarrollo de la aviación
durante la guerra, el papel de la aviación republicana, la relevancia que tuvo la intervención
extranjera en los dos bandos o cómo se desarrolló la guerra aérea tanto en el frente como
en la retaguardia. también se muestra cómo se construía un aeródromo militar, o qué
personal (aviadores, mecánicos, armeros...) trabajaba en él.
