Holdings: collections from Spanish Government Document Services and the Special tribunal
for the repression of Freemasonry and Communism in Franco’s era, in addition to those added
after 1979, divided into three sections: General Services Section, Special Section and Socio-
Political Section. the General Services Section contains the documents that the national office
of Documentary Services and its preceding bodies produced on a daily basis: legal directives,
rulings, correspondence, personnel files, appointments, accounts, reports, work plans, etc.,
between the years 1937 and 1977. the Special Section gathers the documents produced in
relation to masonry and other movements and associations that can be jointly classified as
dissidents with regard to the official ideology of Francosim: theosophism, free thought and
rotarianism. the Socio-Political Section is made up of documents from all manner of institutions,
associations and people who fought for the republican cause, from which various groupings
or “series“ of documents were made and classified, in some cases, according to the place in
which the confiscation took place, and in other cases, by subject matter. Additionally, the Center
holds the majority of the documentation produced by the Special tribunal for the repression
of Freemasonry and Communism during its existence, personal staff files, registers and
proceedings. the “incorporated Collections” are documents deposited in the Center since
1979. they are both archives and collections or one-offs that complete and build on what is
already there, on issues such as the Civil War, propaganda, and exile.
(CiDA) libraries and national Archives network catalogues is possible
