Abstract
This paper investigates the processes of subjective constitution in a
subject who suffers the Down syndrome. It goes beyond the biological status
analysing the coming of subject’s desire. Thus, it is inferred that what
determines a subject is not a biological body but rather a libidinous body that is
made up from the interactions with Another subject in a symbolic order given by
a particular place.
An in-depth study of this issue arises from the question: How does the
Ideal influence on the constitution of a subject born with the Down syndrome?
From a thorough bibliographic examination, the theoretical inquiry
articulates with cases visualizing the characteristics that arise from a subject’s
speech in journalistic interviews.
