Como se puede apreciar, la función del
deflector consiste en “cerrar” un circuito de
bolas mediante el paso de éstos de un hilo a
otro de la tuerca, siempre y cuando sean éstos
adyacentes. De esta manera, las dos o tres
bolas que permanentemente se sumergen en el
deflector no “trabajan”, es decir, no están
sometidos a esfuerzos, con lo que pueden circular
en el interior del deflector de manera flotante.
As can be seen, the purpose of the deflector
is “to close” the ball circuit and “to guide”
the balls from one groove of the nut to the adjacent
one. The two or three balls inside the
deflector at any time do not “work”, that is to
say, they are not submitted to any kind of stress
and can thus circulate freely through the deflector.

El cierre del circuito de las bolas se
hace mediante un orificio pasante en la
tuerca, siendo externo a las pistas de rodadura.
Este diseño obliga a utilizar mayores
diámetros de tuerca que en el caso del sistema
de circulación con deflector.
Closure of the ball circuit is by means of
an opening passage in the nut body, which is
external to the ball tracks.This design requires
that the nut diameter be greater than would be
necessary for a deflector-based ball recirculating
system.
