Sirolo è un elegante borgo che sorge raccolto su una scogliera a picco sul mare, immerso nella fiorente natura del Parco del Conero. Qui le bellezze naturali si integrano mirabilmente con l’architettura decisa di impianto medievale che contraddistingue invece il centro storico. Un tempo infatti Sirolo era un vero e proprio castello fortificato e ancora oggi camminare per il centro è come intrufolarsi in un dedalo di “vigoli” percorribili solo a piedi tra angoli e scorci di grande impatto. Sirolo is an elegant hamlet which rises on a cliff overlooking the sea, surrounded by the luxurious nature of the Park of Conero. Here nature perfectly blends with the decidedly medieval architecture which distinguishes the old town centre. In fact, Sirolo was once a veritable fortified castle. Even today walking through the town centre is like slipping into a maze of alleys accessible only on foot, making your way between corners and impressive vistas. Appena fuori dal centro ci si imbatte in alcune delle spiagge più caratteristiche della Riviera del Conero: la spiaggia delle Due Sorelle, San Michele e la spiaggia Urbani dove le bianche rocce del Conero si tuffano direttamente nel mare dando forma a baie e piccole insenature dal fascino unico. Sirolo boasts one of the most crystalline and clear waters of the Adriatic, so since 1984 continuously has been awarded the European Blue Flag and the 4 Sails of Legambiente. The sea is the heart of Sirolo, an actual mysterious physical presence which marks life in this hamlet. Just outside the centre we come upon some of the most characteristic beaches of the Conero Riviera: the Due Sorelle beach, San Michele and the Urbani beach where the white Conero rocks plunge straight into the sea forming small, charming coves and inlets. Dalla chiesa di San Nicola da Bari alla chiesa del Sacramento, fino all’antica torre campanaria. Percorrendo poi la strada che dalla frazione di San Lorenzo conduce al Conero, si raggiunge l’Abbazia di San Pietro fondata dai benedettini in un’area raccolta e suggestiva. Qui, dal punto più alto del monte, si può godere di un panorama ampio e bellissimo. If you travel along the road which leads from the hamlet of San Lorenzo to Conero, you will arrive at the Abbey of Saint Peter founded by Benedictine monks an built in a cosy, evocative spot.
