Josete Luzia LeiteAbstract <strong>da</strong> Tese de Doutorado submeti<strong>da</strong> <strong>ao</strong> Programa de Pós-Graduação emEnfermagem <strong>da</strong> Escola Anna Nery - Universi<strong>da</strong>de Federal do Rio de Janeiro/<strong>UFRJ</strong>,como parte dos requisitos necessários à obtenção do Título de Doutor emEnfermagem.This is a cross-sectional study on cost of medication adherence of clients living withthe aids in outpatient treatment with the object of research: The direct and indirectcosts of AIDS treatment adherence in outpatients in perspectiva SUS and objectives:To assess the direct costs and indirect membership of the <strong>custo</strong>mer's carrier of theAIDS virus to treatment on an outpatient basis in view of the NHS and analyze thecost categories related to adherence to AIDS treatment on an outpatient basis in thelight of the National STD / AIDS. The theoretical framework includes the costs ofhealth in Brazil and the National AIDS, Nursing Consults, HIV Antirretrovirals andevaluation of health costs. After analysis, we found that the direct costs absorbed76.75% of total costs, gaining prominence for the direct costs of medication with63.04% followed by 31.31% with fees of 5.65% with professionals and examinations.Since the indirect costs totaled 23.25%, and 96% for most of the costs of work <strong>da</strong>yslost, as many have to give up the <strong>da</strong>y job to attend the consultations. These valuesare associated with transportation and food costs that hit the mark of 2% of thesample each. The study points to need for maintenance of drug distribution servicesand benefits available, and a plan to strengthen the membership as a proposal toreduce direct costs.
