Caracterização das Alternativas de abastecimento de Água em Quijingue-Ba
ABSTRACT
The universalization of the access to the water supply service is a legal issue of public policies
because it has an important impact on health, environment and citizenship. The objective of this
study is to characterize the Quijingue-BA, in order to verify the management models and the
existing technological alternatives. The methodology used was a bibliographic resarch, through
data and field research, verifying the current situation of the city in relation to water supply in
it. From previous studies that the per capita water consumption of Quijingue is 76.76
liters/resident/day, a smaller number than the minimum for survival of 110 liters/resident/day
which is recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). The population of Quijingue
has 100% of service, however, in the rural area, more than 9 thousand of them are not supplied
by the competent concessionaire for the services. The conclusion is that the current deficit in
water demand needs to be analyzed by all spheres managing the supply services in the city of
Quijingue. In order to this achievement, it is essential to establish the priorities and articulations
necessary for the public power management rocess and the investment in public supply both
collective and individual.
