IAG has over 60 years of research and education
experience in fluid dynamics, focusing on
applications for aerospace and wind energy.
Of its 65 employees, 45 are scientists. IAG
has numerous wind tunnels and water channels,
and a direct access to high-performance
computers.
Its main activities include:
• simulation and analysis of the flow passing
over aircraft, rotorcraft and wind turbines
including fluid-structure-coupling
• design and testing of aerodynamically and
aero-acoustically optimised airfoils
• design of low-noise propellers
• development of numerical simulation methods
in aerodynamics and aero-acoustics
• fundamental research concerning boundary-
layer flow (transition, turbulence, separation),
flow control, shock boundary-layer
interaction, flow visualisation, and heat flux
sensors.
